On Wednesday, 29 March 2023, the Chamber of Commerce hosted the event Women in Cyber Security – Trends, Opportunities and Current Challenges, organised by the Cyber Security Section (Association for Informatics and Telecommunications), the ICT Horizontal Network and DIH Slovenia.
The event highlighted the opportunities that are key to encouraging girls’ early interest in engineering, technical careers and raising awareness among the general public about what it looks like to work as a cybersecurity professional. Given the shortage of staff in this field, it is important to increase interest in these professions among women. The event was very well attended and the reactions to it were also published in the media (Finance, Siol, Kibernitje, Dnevnik, STA, GZS).
From UM FERI, the event was attended by Lili Nemec Zlatolas, assistant professor at the Institute of Informatics, Nika Jeršič, ITK MAG student, and Aida Kamišalić Latifić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Digital Transformation and assistant professor at UM FERI.
